A house used mainly for holidays misses the small, regular cleans a lived-in home gets. Salt builds up on the windows, spiders move into the eaves, leaves settle on the decks, and sand blown up from the beach stays where it lands. None of it is hard to fix, but all of it shows in a listing photo.
Timber on steep ground
Many Palm Beach homes are timber, on steep blocks where stairs and decks step down towards the water. Timber marks easily under high pressure, so it’s washed gently. On sites this steep, we’ll check access and water supply from your photos before we quote. And on both the ocean and the Pittwater side, sand works its way into door tracks, onto tiles and down between the deck boards.

Further down the peninsula in Mona Vale, we prepared a home for sale in March 2026, which included timber. We soft washed the timber pool deck, the weatherboard, the pergola and the timber ceiling boards, pressure washed the travertine path and the pool surrounds, and cleaned the windows top and bottom, skylights included. A second Mona Vale home had its windows done in April 2025.

Not if it’s done gently. Weathered timber is soft on the surface, so it gets low pressure and a timber-safe cleaner. Any boards that are already split or loose, we’ll point out before we start.
